Scottish Water has gone out to tender with two contracts worth up to a combined total value of £100 million+.for plant hire and buildings.
The Operated Plant Services contract covers the hire of construction and civil engineering machinery and equipment with operator. The utility is looking to appoint up to 30 suppliers to the framework agreement, which could run for up to 12 years with an estimated total value of between £60million to £85 million.
The contract covers provision of a cost effective operated plant hire solution to support its Scottish Water’s capital and operational delivery programmes. The equipment covers all major plant items including excavators, road rollers, dumpers, cranes (both mobile and static), vactor/jetting units, concrete pumping units etc.
The framework agreement will be for an initial period of 6 years, in line with the Scottish Water's regulatory cycle, with 6 x 12 month options to extend after the initial 6 year period.
The contract consists of three lots as follows:
Lot 1: Tracked and Wheeled Excavators
Lot 2: Cranes
Lot 3: Specialist Operated Equipment
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 16th June.
The second contract, for the supply of modular and portable buildings, is worth an estimated £24 million with a maximum number of three suppliers to be appointed to the framework agreement.
Again, the framework agreement could run for up to 12 years - an initial period of 6 years followed by 6 x 12 month extension options.
Equipment to be provided under the contract includes static and modular offices, canteens, stores, welfare units, furniture, sleeping units, toilet units and shower units. Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 27th June.
Both framework agreements are scheduled to start in April 2015 subject to agreement on terms and conditions.
