EA asks interested suppliers to register for in-person briefing event on upcoming £1.2 bn tender for Asset Operation Maintenance and Response Framework

The Environment Agency (EA) is inviting interested suppliers to register for a face to face pre-market engagement  event in September for the forthcoming procuremet of an Asset Operation, Maintenance, and Response 2 (AOMR 2) Framework.

The in person event will take place on 14 September 2026 in Birmingham.- the purpose is to provide information and gather additional feedback from the market which will help to develop the framework design.

AOMR 2 is the replacement of 2 existing EA frameworks for maintenance of EA Flood defence assets and also includes vegetation management, habitat creation and incident response.

Ahead of the event the Agency will share a briefing pack, containing background material on:

  • the development of AOMR2
  • details on how it has actioned market feedback to date
  • a number of questions and subjects the EA is asking suppliers to give consideration to in advance of the event.

 

The pack will be issued approximately 5 days prior to the event.

Due to limited venue capacity, the EA is asking for no more than two delegates per supplier. There will be a morning session and an afternoon session – suppliers are asked only sign up to one of these. Spaces are limited and will be alllocated on a first come first served basis.

The Agency is pointing out that the procurement remains subject to approval – it does not intend to be bound by any information at this stage and makes no commitment to incorporate any recommendations or suggestions within the final procurement documents.

Current estimated total value is £1.2 billion including VAT and current estimated start and end contract dates are 17 January 2028 to 16 January 2032. Estimated publication date of a formal tender notice is 11 May 2027.
