Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a contract for waste collection and disposal with an estimated value of £4.6 million (inc VAT).

NI Water is looking to appoint asingle supplier able to collect and dispose of the following types of wasteby skip and scrap metal recycling:
- wastewater treatment works grit and screenings
- separated grit only
- screenings only
- excavated spoil
- general mixed waste/commercial mixed waste
- dry waste recyclables
- scrap metal (various types)
- pallets of bottled water
- Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
Currrent estimated start and end contract dates are 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028 with further possible extension options up to 30 June 2031.
Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 12:00pm on 20 February 2026 and deadline forsubmission of requests to participate is 12:00pm on 27 February 2026.
Estimated award decision date is currently 22 May 2026.
