Anglian Water has launched an early market engagement exercise seeking supply chain interest for a new AMP8 strategic delivery framework with an estimated total value of £1.8 billion (inc VAT).

The upcoming Major Infrastructure Delivery Framework will provide for a single integrated and collaborative partner to deliver selected programmes and projects - broad scope of capabilities that may be required over the life of the agreement include:
- early contractor involvement (ECI) advisory services,
- design, construction and CDM (Principal Designer and Principal Contractor) duties.
Initial projects to be delivered under the framework include programmes of work related to Coastal Waters Improvements Works and will consist of grey and green civils work, process technology and storage.
The water company is releasing a market engagement webcast with more information about Anglian Water, its objectives and the Major Infrastructure Delivery Framework requirements. Interested suppliers must initially register through the company’s procurement portal Scanmarket (U4). The recorded market engagement webcast will be shared with all suppliers that register. - engagement deadline is 5 January 2026
The framework agreement is structured with an initial term of 5 years, commencing July 2026, with the option to extend by up to 5 years, subject to business need and supplier performance. This allows for a maximum total duration of 10 years, ending no later than July 2036.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 28 July 2026 to 27 July 2031.
A market engagement questionnaire will also be available to suppliers that register to review and respond to. Anglian Water welcomes completed market engagement questionnaire from suppliers by the questionnaire submission deadline of 5th January 2026.
Once questionnaires have been received and a thorough review and analysis of the responses has been conducted, Anglian Water may invite suppliers to attend meetings to follow up and clarify responses to the market engagement questionnaire. Discussions and any feedback from suppliers obtained are solely intended to assist Anglian Water in taking an informed view as to the framing of the future procurement.
Anglian Water point out that suppliers who do not wish to complete and respond to the market engagement questionnaire will not be precluded from participating in future events relating to the procurement.
Current estimated publication date of of a formal tender notice is 29 January 2026 with a deadline for requests to participate of 27 February 2026. Anglian Water expects to announce the contract award decision at the start of July 2026.
