United Utilities has made a direct contract award for the supply and installation of membranes for the replacement of existing PALL systems with an estimated value of £1.821 miilion (inc VAT).

The water company has awarded the contract to a single supplier for 'like-for-like' membranes for existing now obsolete PALL membranes located at several water sites across the its network for technical reasons.
Earliest date the contract will be signed is 31 October 2025. Current start and end estimated contract dates are 31 October 2025 to 30 October 2033 with a further possible extension options to 30 October 2035. The extensions could be used if the goods are still required and the market remains as it is with only one source of the goods.
Renn Consultancy Ltd, trading as Emulous Water, have been identified by the OEM as the distribution partner for the appropriate membranes for the 'like-for-like' replacement of now obsolete PALL membranes.
United Utilities said there are no reasonable alternatives for the replacement membranes that do not require significant/comprehensive modifications to existing membrane housing and existing processes.
