Severn Trent Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for regulatory and technical assurance services worth an estimated £2.65 million.

Together with sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig, Severn Trent has obligations to prepare, submit and publish a wide range of information required by their stakeholders including Ofwat, the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), the Environment Agency (EA) and Natural Resources Wales.
The companies want to engage an expert in the provision of services used by large, highly regulated businesses with significant operational undertakings such as the water sector.
They also require access to a range of specialist expertise and qualifications, for example carbon reporting, to be able to develop appropriate recommendations benefitting the quality of the final submission requirements.
The supplier must also have access to an array of specialist expertise beyond the standard financial and business management disciplines.
The companies and the appointed supplier will jointly prepare adaptable annual assurance plans highlighting respective accountabilities, subject to agreement, with the possibility to make agile updates as submission requirements change.
Initial contract term will be 39 months with a further potential extension option of up to 24 months.
