The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has gone out to tender with a National Plant Hire Framework contract worth an estimated £95 million.
Defra Group is tendering the Framework with 7 Lots covering a managing agent with 6 of thosecovering specific assets for hire as follows:
.Lot 1 - Managing Agent (£13,500,000)
Managing framework suppliers across lots 2 to 6. Single point of contact for DGFS and Defra Organisations
Lot 2 - Plant Equipment and Site Provision (£13,500,000)
Excavators up to 8t, Telehandlers, Rollers, Excavator Attachments, Dumpers, Tracked Dumpers up to 3t, Forklifts, MEWP.
Lighting, Bowsers, Generators, Traffic Management, Fencing, Temporary Access systems
Lot 3 – Accommodation (£13,500,000)
Toilets, Welfare Units – towable, static and mobile, Storage Units
Lot 4a - Diesel Pumps (£13,500,000)
Open tender to procure hire of diesel submersible pumps
Lot 4b - Electric Pumps
Procurement for a contract under framework for hire of electric submersible pumps
Lot 5 - Heavy and Operated Plant
Long Reach Excavators, Dumpers, Dump Trucks, Dozers Long Reach Excavators, Excavator Attachments, Excavators over 8t, Dump Trucks, Tracked Dumpers 3t and over, Dozers, Backhoe Loader 8t and over, Loading Shovels

Hire of earthmoving equipment with operator
Tractors, Bank Mowers, Remote Control Mowers, Agricultural Dump & Plant Trailers, Woodchippers
Initial contract term for all Lots is four years with a further two year extension option.
Interested suppliers can submit bids for a maximum of six Lots and potentially be awarded a contract for all six Lots,
