The Coal Authority has gone out to tender with a contract to put a Hydrometry Framework in place worth an estimated £9.5 million.

The Authority is looking to appoint a number of suppliers to a framework for the provision of hydrometric monitoring services which will run for 4 years from early 2024.
Hydrometric monitoring services will be provided under the framework for the Coal Authority at coal and metal mine sites across the UK.
The Framework will be tendered in the following 6 Lots.
1 Options Assessment, design and build
2 Weirs and Flumes
3 Loggers, Water Level Sensors, Rain Gauges, velocity sensors and Water Quality Sensors
4 Spot Flow Gauging and Water Quality Sampling
5 Flow meter verification
6 Hydrometric Monitoring (General Lot)
The Framework will also be available for use by National Resource Wales (NRW) for similar types of services in relation to current and historic coal and non-coal mining operations.
Tenderers may submit a bid for single, multiple or all Lots.
