Thames Water has awarded a contract for design support services for the definition and development of outline designs for security across the Thames Water estate worth an estimated £8 million.

The services are to be provided in accordance with DEFRA's guidance notes to achieve regulatory compliance, including Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) projects and any other security upgrades undertaken by Thames Water.
Heywood-based firm Critec Group Ltd has been awarded the contract - initial contract term is 4 years with a further 4 one year extension options.
