Southern Water is seeking supply chain input on clean water optimisation ahead of going out to tender with a formal contract in May 2022.

The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice inviting early market engagement and feedback in order to gain a greater understanding of water sector suppliers in this area.
Southern Water wants to identify the best partner to take forward the next tranches of clean water optimisation projects.
The utility says the benefits of the next tranche of projects are expected to be found in a number of areas such as:
- consolidated view of leakage operations
- smart meter data integration & continuous flow alarms
- performance of leak detection pinpointing
- trunk main burst mitigation and prevention
- data validation and consolidation of reporting within live dashboard environment
Southern Water has developed a set of questions and is inviting responses to the questionnaire.
The questions are not mandatory, but by answering all the questions fully, the water company says that suppliers will assist it in building an informed view of the external market and its expectations for successful and mutually beneficial contracting relationships.
Deadline for return of completed questionnaires is 1st April 2022 – click here to access the Periodic Indicative Notice
