Severn Trent Water and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig have gone out to tender with a contract for short term flow monitoring and river quality sampling worth an estimated £1.95 million.
Lot 1 of the contract covers short term flow monitoring - the core activity covers supply, installation, maintenance and removal of temporary monitoring and sampling equipment, with the purpose of providing high quality flow and water quality data in sewer and water courses. Severn Trent said the data is vital for verifying Asset Management and Capital Design’s deterministic models;
Lot 2 is for river quality sampling - core activity is to provide continuous flow and quality sampling at numerous locations throughout Severn Trent’s region. It includes event related auto sampling of river and sewer quality, laboratory analysis of collected samples and detailed Type 2 Modelling.
