Anglian Water has gone out to tender with a contract for sludge transport services across the region worth an estimated £6 million.
The water company is looking to let a new framework contract for the collection, loading, transport, unloading and stockpiling of biosolids in various forms from treatment and storage sites in the Anglian Water region.
Bidders can bid to provide the services of one or more vehicles in one or more geographical areas. Anglian Water said the operations may take place in darkness or in adverse weather conditions. Confined space training will also be required.
The utility is using a 2 stage procurement process - a Request for information (RFI) followed by a Request for proposal (RFP) - the proposed start date is 1st October 2018.
Anglian Water is looking to appoint up to 12 suppliers to the framework - the initial contract will be for a period of 3 years with 2 possible 1 year extension options.
