United Utilities has gone out to tender with an industrial cleaning services framework contract worth an estimated £22.4 million.
The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots.
Lot1, for wastewater networks industrial cleaning is predominantly for out of hours services where the company's internal team have utilised their available driving hours and have no further capacity to service the out of hours unscheduled requirements. The majority of works under this Lot will be for unplanned/reactive works.
Lot 2 services are predominantly services applied on site inside of the company's gates. In accordance with EU driving regulations, United Utilities’ Vactor Services Team has limited capacity to manage peak service demands and unplanned/reactive work requirements. The utility said the team therefore requires assistance from outside suppliers to help them manage the demand.
Estimated total value of the contract, which will run for up to seven years, is £22.4 million.
The water company is looking to appoint up to 36 participants to the framework agreement.
