Yorkshire Water awards £4m sludge cake handling contract

Yorkshire Water has awarded a contract for waste water sludge cake handling on its sites with an estimated total value of £4 million.

The contract covers the provision of resources ( men and machines)to handle sewage sludge cake produced on sites within the Yorkshire region. This will include a range of services on the sites, including the operation of equipment, movement of sludge cake on site, mixing of sludge cake with bulking agents or products and loading of vehicles to enable contractors to move material off site.

Total estimated final value of the contract is £4 million.

Bradford firm Mark Royston Contracting Ltd, one of six companies in the bidding for the work, has been awarded Lot 1 of the contract, which has an initial estimated total value of £500,000
