Anglian Water has awarded an IT contract to put an infrastructure and application development framework in place worth an estimated £100 million.
The framework covers activities that support the development of 3 of Anglian Water's 4 principle IT strategies.
- work management solutions;
- end user computing;
- customer engagement.
The water company said it has identified improvements that could be made to its capabilities and that development would need to support a step change in strategic activities to enable the wider business to meet its' efficiency challenge.
The designer and technology partners will be working collectively with Anglian Water and other third parties to develop and build solutions, with the expectation that they will have the required design,development and technical capability to deliver the programme.
Activities covered under the contract will include:
- Work Management Solution - technologies that will cover materials and logistics management, asset management, resource planning, billing and tariffs, integrated supply chain management, asset location and visualisation, geographic, environmental and population demographics.
- Customer Engagement Solution - targeted engagement, real-time sentiment analysis (Customer relationship Management), real-time communication and collaboration (Unified Communications)
- End User Computing - next generation field devices (End User Computing), real-time communications and collaboration (Unified Communications)
Five companies were in the bidding for the 8 year contract - Capgemini UK Plc, Atos IT Services UK Ltd and Cognizant Worldwide Ltd have all won places on the framework.
