Welsh Water tenders £3m sludge disposal services contract

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to tender with a contract for sludge disposal services worth an estimated £3 million.

The water company is looking to appoint up to five suppliers to the framework for clean water sludge haulage and recycling.
The contract is being tendered in Lots in two geographical areas:

Lot 1: North Wales — 15 000 Tonnes.
Lot 2: South Wales — 60 000 Tonnes.

The DCC Operating Area covers the whole of Wales and parts of Herefordshire and Deeside.

The Framework will run for 3 years with an option to extend by a further 2 years at 1 year intervals.
