Flow measurement specialist company NIVUS has been awarded two framework contracts for the supply and maintenance of transit time ultrasonic river flow gauges by the Environment Agency.
The framework covers both the supply and maintenance of new gauges and the maintenance of the existing Thermo Fisher gauges.
Lot 1 covers the feasibility, supply, install and maintenance of new ultrasonic transit time river flow gauges. ‘Transit time’ gauges were previously known as ‘time of flight’ gauges - the name change brings it into line with the draft BS EN ISO 6416. NIVUS was the only company to bid for the contract, which is worth an estimated £1 million.
The Warwickshire-based firm, which is headquartered in Germany, was one of two companies in the bidding for Lot 2 for the maintenance and repair of the existing Thermo Fisher river flow gauges, worth £500,000.
NIVUS has been working in the field of flow measurement for the water industry for more than 45 years. With 7 international subsidiaries and more than 40 distributors all over the world the company, which has its head office in Eppingen, Germany, is one of the technology leaders in the sector worldwide.
