Northumbrian Water is part of a joint tender with gas transportation companies Wales and West Utilities Ltd and Northern Gas Networks Operations Ltd for the supply of polyethylene pipes and fittings for gas and potable water transportation.
The utilities are looking to appoint up to ten suppliers to the framework agreement, which will run for up to eight years. Estimated value of the contract is put at between £35 million to £94 million.
The tender is expected to culminate in 3 or more discrete contracts - the process is being managed for all companies at this stage by Wales and West Utilities Ltd.
The products to be supplied are described as operationally business critical to WWU, NGNOL and NWL.
WWU, NGNOL and NWL currently operate different logistics models so both ex-works UK and a number of different delivered options are required to be submitted.
The utilities are seeking the optimum combination of products and reserve the rights to split the items into lots and have more than 1 supplier per lot. Each company is reserving the right to negotiate independently of each other to satisfy different utility operating models.
All applicants must be registered on Bravosolution to access and participate in the sourcing project.
Time limit for receipt of requests for documents or for accessing documents is 31st March - click here to access the tender documentation.
