United Utilities has awarded contracts for the supply of inlet screens and screenings handling equipment to four suppliers under a framework agreement with an estimated total value of £25 million.
The scope of requirements to be provided under the Kit Framework includes storage, design and supply, off-loading, fabrication and delivery. The suppliers will also be required to undertake site post installation checks for quality compliance, and provide reporting on the on-site compliance and the commissioning of new inlet fine screens, powered and non-powered coarse screen and screenings handling equipment.
All screens and screenings handling equipment must be warranted and comply with the relevant industry, British and European Standards.
The scope of supply and services will be used on all United Utilities Limited treatment works, networks and pumping stations respectively.
Four companies were in the bidding for the framework, which has an estimated total final value of £25 million.
Huber Technology, Haigh Engineering Ltd, Longwood Engineering Company Ltd and M & N Electrical & Mechanical Services Ltd have all been awarded one year contracts with an initial estimated total value of £600,000.
