Fulcrum, the UK’s leading independent utilities infrastructure business, has cemented its relationship with contractor partner McNicholas by naming the company as its sole framework contractor for future gas, electricity and multi-utility connection works at developments across England and Wales.
The move to a single framework delivery partner enables Fulcrum to increase its competitive position by taking advantage of the booming new build housing market while simplifying business processes and further improving the efficiency of back office functions including pricing, estimating and design services.
Fulcrum Operations Director Ian Foster commented:
“As sole contractor, McNicholas will become an intrinsic part of the Fulcrum Operations team, fully aligned to our aims, values and brand with some McNicholas staff working directly alongside our own expert teams.”

Fulcrum has utilised McNicholas since November 2011 on projects including Olympic Park and Glenkinchie Distillery. As sole contractor for utility works in England and Wales from 2nd June, the enhanced partnership with McNicholas will now allow Fulcrum to guarantee consistent delivery in all regions as well as supporting innovation, new ways of working and flexibility in meeting customer needs.
