Enterprise acquires Byzak

Enterprise, the UK's largest dedicated provider of maintenance and front-line services to the public sector and utility industry, has announced that it has acquired the multi-disciplinary contractor Byzak Limited.

Byzak is a provider of a range of mechanical and electrical, and civil engineering services to UK water and sewerage companies, predominantly on their above ground assets including reservoirs, water and sewerage treatment plants and pumping stations.

 In a statement announcing the acquisition, Enterprise said Byzak’s operations are complementary to Enterprise’s existing services to the UK water industry which relate predominately to the below ground pipe distribution network.

The acquisition of Byzak is in line with Enterprise’s strategy to broaden the range of services it offers to the UK’s utility companies.  Enterprise said that Byzak will be incorporated into Enterprise’s existing water capital and power projects delivery functions to create a comprehensive project provider, allowing the Group to offer wide-ranging, cost effective asset management solutions to existing and prospective customers.

Byzak has forecast revenues of in excess of £55m in its current financial year. Clients include Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water, Scottish Water and United Utilities, representing both new and existing Enterprise customers.  Byzak operates across the North of England and Scotland and employs 240 people.

Alan Peterson, Chairman of Enterprise commented;

“Byzak has a strong reputation in its marketplace and is an excellent strategic fit with our existing water capabilities. It significantly broadens our service offering and client base and will allow us to provide a comprehensive, least-cost solution for existing and new customers.  The acquisition represents an exciting new phase in supporting the continuing growth of our utilities business.

We are pleased to welcome Byzak employees to Enterprise and look forward to the exciting opportunities that our combined strengths will bring.”
