Curio Water and Ozcon partner to deliver new BlueBarrier treatment trains for the UK

Curio Water has formed a new partnership with Ozcon Environmental, an ozone systems engineering specialist, to strengthen its ozone offerings as it continues to develop its BlueBarrier treatment trains for micropollutant and PFAS removal.

CURIO BLUEBARRIER WATER TREATMENT

Birmingham based Ozcon will join Curio at Cranfield University Technology Park, bringing industry leading knowledge of integrated ozone water treatment systems across multiple sectors to Curio’s expanding portfolio.

Ozcon will support Curio’s new and existing ozone applications, as it develops systems for tackling micropollutants across a variety of sites following its work in launching the UK’s first ozone based micropollutant removal plants with Severn Trent in 2025.

Curio has previously formed strategic partnerships with Nereus, Desotec, and Atlas Copco alongside its longstanding relationship with Veolia Water Technologies. Taken together, these partnerships give Curio a broad coalition of expertise, engineering across ozone, UV and filtration amidst growing interest in treating water to remove micropollutants, PFAS, microplastics and other persistent contaminants.

The partnership with Ozcon also adds specialist knowledge and expertise in applications and sectors outside Curio’s core water treatment business, including food and beverage safety, and air, smoke and odour control.

Howard Marles, Founder and CEO of Curio Water, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Ozcon Environmental, one of the industry’s leading specialists with an impressive track record of working on ozone systems with some of the world’s largest companies across a range of sectors and applications.

“Using ozone as part of a tailored treatment train to tackle micropollutants and PFAS in different water matrices in different industries requires the advanced technical and specialist insights that the Ozcon team will provide.”

Isa Tanriverdi, Founder of Ozcon, commented:

“We’re very excited to be working with Curio on the pressing issue of persistent contaminants across the UK’s water. Our interest in engineering-first applications tailored to different problems very much aligns with Curio’s approach, and we look forward to continuing their work on micropollutant removal and other ozone applications across the UK.”
