British Water has launched its annual Water and Wastewater Company Performance Survey 2026 - the organisation is inviting members and non-members alike to respond.

The annual, highly anticipated survey provides contractors, consultants and suppliers with the opportunity to share feedback on how water and wastewater companies have performed over the past 12 months by rating the companies they have experience of working with.
Launching the survey, Chief Executive of British Water Lila Thompson said:
“This year's survey comes at a particularly important time as AMP8 delivery programmes gather pace and investment across the UK water sector continues to increase. The insights gathered help inform the regular feedback British Water provides to key industry stakeholders on behalf of the supply chain. Your contribution plays an important role in highlighting good practice, supporting stronger collaboration across the industry and identifying opportunities for improvement.”
The survey provides a platform for the wider water sector supply chain to share their experiences and help identify areas of good practice, opportunities for improvement and ways to strengthen collaboration across the industry.
Participants are invited to rate their clients across 12 key areas, including innovation, professionalism, procurement, contractual approach and communication, helping to build a valuable picture of performance and collaboration across the sector. The questionnaire continues to focus on the areas that matter most to both water companies and the supply chain.
In addition, British Water is inviting respondents to rate how the water and wastewater companies for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have approached the transition for their respective investment programmes.
Companies who do not deal directly with a water company also have the opportunity to rate their dealings with the water companies’ Tier 1 partners and main contractors.
Deadline for completing the survey is 5.00 pm on Friday 10 July 2026 – click here to access the survey online.
All responses will remain confidential and anonymous. Individual details will not be shared, and all responses will be combined and analysed in aggregate form as part of a wider group dataset.
