Aquamonitrix has announced that Chief Operating Officer (COO), Colm Lynch, has taken over as CEO with effect from 1st January 2024 - current CEO and company founder, Mark Bowkett, will continue with Aquamonitrix in a director role, supporting Colm on commercial activities.

The award-winning Irish technology company recently announced it has agreed a year-long nitrite and nitrate testing trial with Thames Water, the UK’s biggest water and sewerage company. Using the tech trailblazer’s groundbreaking nitrite and nitrate analyser, the trial will demonstrate that nitrite and nitrate monitoring in wastewater can improve wastewater treatment performance.
Aquamonitrix has developed and sells next generation analysers for nitrite and nitrate, which contaminate water. The analysers deliver the accuracy of laboratory-based tests in real time on site, with high frequency monitoring and instant alerts for the protection of drinking water, aquaculture and the environment.
The analyser can also support controlling water aeration, helping reduce energy consumption and nitrous oxide (a greenhouse gas) emissions.
Commenting on his new role, CEO Colm Lynch, who has been COO of Aquamonitrix since the company was founded in August 2021, said:
“Organisations around the world have embraced the need for innovative technologies that provide opportunities for continuous emission reduction, and I am delighted to be working with a dedicated team bringing new products that will make a difference.”
“If successful, the implementation of our technology in the day to day operations of Thames Water operations could hugely reduce energy consumption and process emissions, and make a serious contribution towards emission reductions.”
