Galliford Try scales up Environment business with new division to meet growing water sector demand

Galliford Try has scaled up its Environment business with the introduction of four Business Units under a new divisional structure that will enable the business to meet growing demand in the water sector over the next decade.

The operations cover two business streams:

  • Asset Creation - which includes the business’s core design and build offering across water and wastewater treatment facilities, geographically split across three Business Units;
  • Water Technologies - which comprise acquired companies Lintott, MCS and Ham Baker with a focus on advanced equipment manufacturing that yields higher profit margins and incorporates cutting-edge technology.

The new structure will support clients’ needs to address an ageing asset base and environmental objectives across the lifecycle of their assets and operations. Both streams will report into Stephen Slessor, Managing Director, who has led the Environment business since 2021.

Commenting on the announcement, Chief Executive, Bill Hocking said:

“This is an exciting time for our Environment business and this restructure is another milestone in our Sustainable Growth Strategy. There is significant growth in the water sector and we are one of the biggest players with long-term frameworks with all the mainland UK water companies and an increasing demand for our services as our clients tackle sector challenges.

“This new structure will enable us to continue to grow our operations in a disciplined way that allows us to maintain the high-quality services and operational excellence that customers are accustomed to as we ramp up delivery of AMP7 projects and set ourselves up to meet the growing demands of AMP8 and beyond.”
