Affinity Water has been awarded the Fair Tax Mark accreditation for a fifth year in a row – the award is independent recognition that the water company pays the right amount of corporation tax.

The Fair Tax Foundation is an independent, not for profit community benefit society. The certification scheme was launched in 2014 and seeks to encourage and recognise organisations that pay the right amount of corporation tax, at the right time and in the right place.
Michael Blake, Interim Chief Financial Officer, Affinity Water, said:
“With newspaper headlines focusing on the cost-of-living crisis that many of our customers are facing it is a very important time to be awarded the Fair Tax Mark certification. This is the fifth year in a row that Affinity Water has met the high standards to achieve this accreditation. We want our customers to know that as the UK’s largest water only company supplying 3.8 million customers in the South East of England, that we pay our fair share of tax and that our shareholders are fully supportive of this work.
“Affinity Water has shown that it is willing to be totally transparent about how we are governed and how our tax affairs are arranged. All our activities are fully taxable in the UK. “
