The water company will be carrying out ground surveys around the town to help establish where the company can install approximately 1.4 kilometres of pipe next year.

The new pipe is needed to continue to maintain water pressure to the area and the work involves digging small holes to help determine the condition of the ground.

Jeremy Dufour, South East Water Project Manager explained that the works will require a four day lane closure for one of the main routes out of Wokingham.

The investigation work, which starts on 4 January, will run for approximately 10 weeks. South East Water, will notify residents of the chosen route for the new water main once the investigation work completes.

The project, which is in the early planning stages, will begin next summer.
