Thames Water has today announced that Nevil Muncaster will join the company in the newly created Strategic Resources Director role.
With over 30 years’ experience in the water and waste sector, Nevil Muncaster joins from Yorkshire Water where he has held several board positions including Director of Asset Management and most recently Chief Strategy and Regulation Officer.
He will start his new role at Thames Water in early September where he will lead the delivery of several complex long-term projects on water resources, including establishing major infrastructure changes to facilitate national water transfer and trading schemes.
He will also oversee the transition of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, known as the “super sewer” from a construction project to an operational asset and lead Thames’ Net Zero plan, the roadmap for which was announced earlier this week.

Prior to working at Yorkshire Water, he spent 19 years at Veolia Water in several roles including Managing Director of Veolia Water South East.He is also Chair of Keyland Developments, a sister company to Yorkshire Water within the Kelda Group that focuses on sustainable housing solutions.
His appointment follows the recent recruitment of Caroline Sheridan as Engineering and Asset Director, Tony Vasishta as Manging Director of Ventures, Alastair Cochran as CFO, Warren Buckley as Retail Director, Cathryn Ross into a newly-created Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Director position and Francis Paonessa as Capital Delivery Director. It completes the make-up of Thames Water’s Executive team.
