Anglian Water is investing £350,000 to install 1.5 kilometres worth of new water main in Littleport, Ely to reduce the risk of future bursts and low water pressure in the area.
The installation work, which is set to commence on Monday 4 November, will see 1.5km of pipe laid in the area, and is expected to last for 13 weeks,
The water company said replacing the water main with a new section of pipe will help to significantly reduce the likelihood of future interruptions to supply, ensuring a more resilient water network for many years to come.
David Hartley, Anglian Water spokesperson, commented:
"We’re pleased that this vital repair work will help to improve the existing water network in the area, ensuring a more resilient supply for the future.
"The improvements to the network will help to reduce the likelihood of future bursts and low water pressure in the area of Littleport and Ely, making sure that our network is fit to meet the demands of the local population.”
