North Midland Construction rebrands as contracts reach all-time high

North Midland Construction and its subsidiary Nomenca are coming together under one brand as part of the company’s ambitious plans for the future.

Its 1800-strong team are working on multi-million-pound schemes across the country – from buildings and highways to critical national infrastructure. A UK-wide recruitment drive is also in full flow to find talented people to join the expanding team.

Now working with 10 of the biggest water providers, it has recently secured a number of large-scale infrastructure contracts - all of which are instrumental in nmcn’s progression to becoming the largest multi-disciplined contractor in the UK water sector.

With a history dating back 72 years, the rebrand sees both North Midland Construction and Nomenca Limited become known as nmcn - reinforcing a ‘one team’ approach across its 12 UK offices, off-site build and fabrication facilities, with head office expansion plans also underway.

Revenues have surged 76% during the last five years for the £340m turnover company. Recent major contract wins include the £55.5m Bellozanne Treatment Works in Jersey, the multi-million Highways England's Regional Delivery Partnership and South West Water Civil Engineering K7 Capital Works and MEICA frameworks.

John Homer nmcnJohn Homer, Chief Executive of nmcn, who has been leading the national engineering and construction company since 2016, said:

“We’re bringing the technical expertise and innovation that flows throughout our business within one united identity. Our success is, and always has been, built from the strength and experience of our people. Together, we’re creating buildings and infrastructure used by millions of people and for future generations to come.”

“Our new branding is designed to future-proof our legacy and represents people being at the heart of the business, collaboration and sustainability and our progressiveness in people, quality and technology. We are in a robust industry position and the launch of the nmcn brand signals the start of a new growth era for us.”

“Revenues have continued to rise, our cash position remains solid and a series of major contract wins are feeding our growing pipeline of work for the next five years and beyond. We are therefore looking to extend our team with an intensive recruitment campaign running over the coming months.”
