Retail water sector - Yu Water applies for sewerage licence

Yü Water Ltd has made an application to Ofwat for a sewerage licence.

The Nottingham-based company already has a water supply licence for the non-household water market. The Group separately provides electricity and gas services and sees the water sector as a “natural adjacent market” which will attract a number of potential customers.

The company’s business plan synopsis say that Yü Water will form part of the Yu Group’s portfolio and will support its growth plan to become the primary supplier of choice for multi utility services including power, gas and water to non-domestic customers.

Yü Water is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yü Group PLC which is listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.

Yü Group’s focus is “to offer both competitive pricing with excellent levels of customer care.”

Deadline to make representations or objections about the application is 9 October 2018.
