South East Water will shortly be submitting an application to The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for permission to extend the existing Bray Keleher Water Treatment Works in Monkey Island Lane.
Before the planning application is submitted, local residents, businesses and organisations are being invited to visit the works to see the proposals and have their say on the plans on Thursday 10 August.
The plans to extend the site will secure water supplies for future generations. The site is currently capable of treating up to 45 million litres of fresh drinking water per day but the water company hopes to extend the works to be able to treat up to 68 million litres per day.
Forming part of the company’s £424 million investment programme between 2015 and 2020, the extension would secure water supplies for current and future customers across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire.
Brian Steventon, Project Manager at South East Water, said:
“This important project will secure water supplies for current and future customers as the community grows.
“We hope local people will visit us at Bray Keleher Water Treatment Works and speak to the project team who will be on hand to answer any questions.”
HUBER Technology UK & Ireland are inviting people to register for their March webinar where they will be providing information about HUBER water intake screens for municipal and industrial applications.
