Welsh Water completes £2 million internal flooding investment

Welsh Water has completed an extensive £2 million scheme that will tackle wastewater flooding affecting properties in the Upton area of Chester. Some properties in the area have previously experienced internal and external flooding during extreme storm weather conditions and periods of heavy rainfall.

Work focused on increasing capacity of the local wastewater network to enable it to deal with larger volumes of stormwater to help alleviate the risk of future flooding.

The complex scheme also involved the installation of a new overflow mechanism on the network, the creation of new manholes and all associated pipework.
