NI Water to begin commissioning of new Blackrock Pumping Station

NI Water will shortly begin the final connections and commissioning work on a new pumping station at Blackrock in Ballymartin.

The facility is part of a £1.2m investment by NI Water which has already seen the construction and operation of a new pumping station in Ballymartin village and the laying of new pipelines between Blackrock and Ballymartin.

The overall scheme will collect wastewater from the Blackrock and Ballymartin areas and transfer it to Kilkeel for treatment. The new infrastructure will bring about environmental benefits in the area and will accommodate future development in the village for the next 20 years.

Contractors BSG Civil Engineering are carrying out the work to bring the essential sewerage infrastructure into service on behalf of NI Water.
