Embsay pumping station plans go on show

Plans for a new water pumping station in the North Yorkshire village of Embsay will go on show next week.

Yorkshire Water and contractors Mott MacDonald Bentley will be present at the meeting, which will be held next Thursday. Residents will be able to inspect the plans and ask questions about the project which will get underway later this month.

"There shouldn't be that much disruption in the village as we'll be doing quite a bit of the construction work off site," said customer communications manager Louise Bradbury. "The pumping station will then be transported to the village in two sections where it will be installed in a field opposite St Mary's Church.

"Once it's in operation, the pumping station will play a part in ensuring the village can continue to benefit from some of the highest quality water in the world for many years to come."
