Global engineering and professional services consultancy Arup has joined forces with WRc, the Centre of Excellence for Innovation in the water, waste and gas sectors to create a strategic partnership to tackle UK water sector issues.
The partnership will be kick-starting the relationship with an innovation project – details of which will be unveiled in the forthcoming months. Mark Smith, CEO, WRc, will also be providing a global water technology perspective in the Arup ‘inDepth Water Perspectives’ – a new global research document being launched in November 2015.
The agreement provides a unique platform to meet a growing need for technology evaluation and accelerated adoption across the water, waste and environmental sectors.
Commenting on the new partnership, Mark Fletcher, Arup’s Global Water Leader said:
“I have the highest regard for the team at WRc, recognising them as global leaders for industry insight, independent technology evaluation and innovation. I can see the real value in developing this strategic partnership for the benefit of the sector, technology providers and industry users. I am looking forward to the opportunity to bring something new to our clients”.
Mark Smith, CEO of WRc commented:
“WRc is equally delighted to form this important partnership. I believe we have created real synergy in aligning ourselves with Arup and their proud reputation for innovation implementation and delivery both in the UK utility sector and the world. “I am looking forward to the real technology identification and development opportunities and benefits together we can bring to our clients in the water sector”.
