Further work by Severn Trent Water to prevent sewer flooding for residents in Cheltenham gets underway next week.
The water company is investing an additional £1.5 million in replacing the existing sewers in the Lansdown Terrace Lane area of the town with new, larger pipes.
Paul Dennison, Senior Solution Engineer at Severn Trent Water explained:
“The sewers in the Lansdown Terrace Lane area haven’t been able to cope during periods of heavy rainfall, which has resulted in several properties being flooded. It’s a truly horrific experience and we’re going to do all we can to help prevent it happening again. “
NMCNomenca, Severn Trent’s contract partner, will start the work next Monday – the scheme is due for completion in December.
The water company has already invested around £6 million over the last 12 months to improve the sewers in Cheltenham.
