Barhale Response creates new water industry alliance

New water industry firm Barhale-Response has opened for business in a ceremony at the company’s new purpose-built headquarters – and expansion plans are already in the pipeline.

Barhale-Response is a coming together of successful civil and MEICA engineering companies Barhale in the UK and Response in Ireland. The company will focus on the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of mechanical, electrical and ICA services across the UK and has been established to become a market leader in the field.

General Manager Dave Welch said the firm would collaborate early with clients to jointly develop the best design on TOTEX-based solutions.
The firm will incorporate the latest 3D BIM in design, include smart technologies and integrated software in built solutions and promote off-site manufacturing to reduce cost, time and inefficiencies.

The new company has a management team of eight and has two experienced field teams which will increase to 20, with 10 field teams, by early 2016.

Dave Welch added:
"We have the expertise and backing of two huge companies and have the capability to keep all MEICA works, including 3D Design and BIM, in-house rather than outsourcing."

Barhale-Response is currently putting several proposals together for mechanical and electrical works on contracts for Thames Water, Anglian Water, Wessex Water and Severn Trent Water.

Dave Welch explained:

“These are various mechanical, electrical and ICA solutions to improve water and waste water process plants. We have new pumping stations to construct at Staythorpe, Notts, and Derby.

Barhale-Response will focus on

  • Establishing and promoting TOTEX solutions
  • Continuing optimisation of BIM and 3D modelling
  • Extending and developing off-site fabrication capability
  • Continued staff development through training and succession management
  • Carbon reduction through clear plans and practices
