Built environment consultancy Ridge has strengthened its infrastructure leadership team with the appointment of Bobby Brown as Head of Water to support its growth in the water and environmental sectors.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Ridge, as it continues to expand its infrastructure and utilities offer and invest in sector-leading talent. This marks another key milestone in Ridge’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the infrastructure sector and diversify its portfolio.
Chris Haworth, Partner at Ridge, said:
"Bobby brings deep technical knowledge, client insight and leadership strength. His track record in water and infrastructure makes him a key addition as we grow our offer across public and private sector clients. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Ridge."
With 20 years’ experience in civil engineering, project management and infrastructure delivery, Bobby has worked on major projects including, most recently, the award-winning Avonmouth Severnside Enterprise Area project—a £120 million, 17km flood defence scheme.
His career has spanned senior roles at Black & Veatch and Turner & Townsend, where he built and led multi-disciplinary teams and delivered major programmes of work for clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Thames Water and the Pennon Group.
From early beginnings designing breakwaters and coastal defences, Bobby’s career evolved into large-scale capital programme management, winning and delivering high-value frameworks and accounts, and leading region-wide project management teams.
At Turner & Townsend, he grew a project management discipline to support a multi-sector client portfolio and built regional accounts contributing significant revenue to national accounts. He also served as the national key account lead for Pennon Group, securing major project and commercial management frameworks valued at over £20 million.
Commenting on his appointment, Bobby Brown said:
"Ridge offers a rare opportunity to shape and grow a water business, backed by a supportive and agile multidisciplinary organisation. I’m excited to align client challenges with Ridge’s diverse capabilities, from civil engineering to architecture and digital delivery, offering something different to the market."
