UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is organising a webinar to be held in August about opportunities in the water and waste management sectors in Brazil.
Steady development and industrialisation are driving growth in all sectors, but the challenges have been encouraging Brazilian businesses and all levels of government to develop an appetite for green growth innovations, UKTI says.
As well as a new waste regime being introduced, the Brazilian government is also investing in water, wastewater and sewage treatment facilities. New and upgraded infrastructure is being financed through Brazil's Growth Acceleration Programme - Phase 2 (PAC2) and will see deployment of water and wastewater solutions at an enormous speed and scale.
The webinar has been designed to assist UK companies considering entering the Brazilian environmental market, mainly those planning to take part of the UKTI Water & Waste Management Mission to Brazil, from 30 September to 4 October 2013, which offer services and technologies in the following areas:
- Water-quality monitoring, testing and treatment;
- Water distribution network instrumentation;
- Methods for re-using waste water;
- Municipal and industrial sludge treatment;
- Waste reduction and non-generation;
- Mechanical sorting facilities for recyclables;
- Waste treatment technologies (anaerobic digestion, plasma and gasification);
- Energy from waste;
- Integrated municipal waste management services.
Participants will get to hear about expected developments involving integrated management solutions for both solid and liquid waste, along with the treatment and purification of drinking water and water effluence.
These large opportunities for UK expertise and investment in Brazil will be presented by two Brazilian specialists in the water and waste management sectors and, coordinated by UKTI in Brazil, UK companies will be able to put questions directly to these specialists so as to better understand the perspective for their business in Brazil.
The webinar will be held on 21 August 2013, between 2.30pm and 4pm. Click here to register
