The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN) has announced that its annual flagship event will be hed in North America or the first time due to the booming regional interest in smart water technologies and rapid growth of the SWAN North American Alliance.
The SWAN 9th Annual Conference in May 2019 will bring key leaders together in Miami to discuss the latest smart water and wastewater trends. SWAN will partner with leading water organizations including WEF, WRF, NACWA, the Resilient Utility Coalition (RUC) and Water Online.
Last year’s conference drew participants from 26 countries with 21 international water utility presenters.
The 2019 conference theme "Navigating the Smart Water Journey: From Leadership to Results" will focus on meeting global water challenges through innovative, utility management strategies and cutting-edge, data-driven solutions. One of the confirmed keynotes will feature Hamilton Amadeo, the CEO of AEGEA - a progressive Brazilian sanitation company active in 47 municipalities and nine states across Brazil.
Commenting on the upcoming conference, Hardeep Anand, deputy director of the Capital Improvement Program at the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, said:
“Resilience in the water sector is a long-term journey – it continues to evolve based on the ability to both analyze past initiatives as well as accelerate. This is made possible through a strategic process of learning, collaboration, adaptation, planning, bold leadership and community engagement. I'm very much looking forward to having the global SWAN network come to Miami to explore these and many more important industry topics.”
The Smart Water Networks Forum is the leading global hub for the smart water sector, accelerating the awareness and adoption of data-driven technologies in water and wastewater networks worldwide.
A nonprofit organization, SWAN brings together key players in the water sector to collaborate and share knowledge while offering access to cutting-edge research, global networking opportunities and the ability to proactively influence the future of the water industry.
