The Low Carbon Hub C.I.C. has applied to the Environment Agency for 2 abstraction licences for a hydropower generation scheme.
One application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Thames between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year:
- 91,800 cubic metres an hour
- 2,203,200 cubic metres a day
- 660,960,000 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for hydro-electric power production via 3 Archimedean Screw Turbines. All water abstracted will be returned to the River Thames.
The Low Carbon Hub C.I.C. has also applied to the Agency for a transfer licence to abstract water from the River Thames which will be used for a Larinier technical fish pass and a nature-like fish and eel pass.
HUBER Technology UK & Ireland are inviting people to register for their March webinar where they will be providing information about HUBER water intake screens for municipal and industrial applications.
