SOUTH EAST WATER logo 1South East Water has been given a £76,000 penalty for a water supply breach - human error was blamed as enough water to fill 300,000 baths was taken without an Environment Agency licence.

Environment Agency genericAnglian Water has paid a monetary penalty of £150,000 following an investigation by the Environment Agency after sewage was released into the River Til.

DEFRA ADDRESS PLATEEnvironment Secretary Ranil Jayawardena MP has announced that he will bring forward proposals to raise the civil penalty for water companies who pollute the environment by 1,000-fold - from £250,000 to up to £250 million.
