Almost 9 out of 10 people in Britain want to see investment in new infrastructure – but many also want more of a say in how it’s planned and delivered, according to a new survey published today.

Under the Localism Act the Infrastructure Planning Commission was abolished yesterday – from today onwards the Planning Inspectorate will take over its work.

The Infrastructure Planning Commission has accepted for examination an application from Able Humber Ports Ltd for proposed port facilities located at Killingholme, Humberside.

The Localism Bill, which incorporates a provision to abolish the Infrastructure Planning Commission in its present form has completed its passage through Parliament after the House of Commons considered the House of Lords amendments to the Bill on 7 November 2011.
