Northumbrian Water, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Anglian Water and Wessex Water are the next water companies to be questioned by MPs on the EFRA Commiittee on their environmental and financial performance.

The Committee will hold two more evidence sessions quizzing the executives of Northumbrian Water and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water on Tuesday 11 March, and the bosses of Anglian Water and Wessex Water on Wednesday 12 March.

The MPs’ inquiry has so far seen them question the executives of United Utilities, South West Water, Severn Trent, Southern Water, and Yorkshire Water, on their companies’ financial and environmental performance.

Next week’s evidence sessions will be an opportunity for the Committee to delve into the companies’ service delivery and customer satisfaction as well as their pay-out of dividends and executive bonuses and their debt gearing levels.

The companies will be questioned on environmental issues, including specific pollution incidents of sewage discharges.

MPs will also pose questions on Northumbrian Water, Anglian Water and Wessex Water having all contested Ofwat’s PR24 Final Determinations by requesting a review from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
