Boston barrier flood gate 1The Environment Agency has set out a full list of upcoming projects from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 under its £2.65 billion two year flood and coastal erosion risk management investment progranmme between April 2024 to March 2026.

Flood defence Isle of Wight Priority Scheme locations 1The construction of four major coastal defence capital schemes on the Isle of Wight with a total potential cost of £54.7 million to reduce the risk of flooding and coastal erosion moves one step closer to completion after receiving £7 million of central government funding.

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ECO BLOCKS 1The Environment Agency has published details of an ongoing research and development project at Newlyn to investigate the use of eco-blocks as a potential material to be used in future flood and coastal erosion risk management schemes.

reading caversham weirThe Environment Agency has decided that increased costs and reduced benefits of the proposed Reading & Caversham Flood Alleviation Scheme mean it will not attract government funding and will therefore not be progressed further.

 

EA FCERM ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 2021

The Environment Agency has today launched its annual FCERM (Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management) Strategy Action Plan to help protect England from flooding and coastal erosion.

FLOODING IN YORKThe Environment Agency (EA) is continuing work on two separate projects to update evidence on measuring the economic costs, resilience and coastal change related to flooding.
