The award relates to Hydro’s DynaSand® filtration units for suspended solids, nitrate and ammonia removal. The agreement covers the ‘Supply of Wastewater Packaged Plant – Granular Media Filters for Wastewater Tertiary Treatment’ for the Quality and Standards Period III.’
Commenting on the win, Chris Day, Hydro International’s Operations Director, Hydro Wastewater Division said:

Hydro International is the sole UK supplier of DynaSand® technology, with more than 500 installed DynaSand® units and operating and service experience since 1996. DynaSand® is a continuously operating sand filter with an internal washing system which eliminates the need for wash water storage tanks, backwash pumps and collecting tanks.
DynaSand® offers benefits of high tertiary treatment effectiveness within a very small site footprint, and low power and consumables costs. DynaSand® technology is robust, maintenance requirements are low and the units have a long operating life.
