Anglian Water puts £9m pipeline plans on show

Anglian Water will put its plans for a new £9 million 31km underground pipeline on display in Bardwell later this month.

 

Anglian Water is starting work this month on two schemes with a combined value of £1,250,000 to protect properties against sewer flooding in the face of changing weather patterns and heavy rainfall.

Thames Water is currently trialling new tablet technology which will be used by staff in the process side of its clean and wastewater treatment operations.

Atlantis Resources Limited,a vertically integrated turbine supplier and project owner in the tidal power industry, has announced that it has raised approximately £12 million from its successful initial public offering via the placing of 12,765,957 new shares on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market.

Seventeen professional bodies, including the Chartered Institution for Water and Environmental Management, are calling on the Government to use their expertise to develop a long-term flood strategy for the UK as a matter of urgency.

The European Commission is taking Denmark to Court for a failure to present plans for managing its river basins.

A new briefing from the European Environment Agency (EEA) argues that the cumulative impact of human activity should be better managed to avoid irreversible damage to ecosystems.

The Welsh Government has said that it is neither affordable or sustainable to defend the entire Welsh coast  and that a risk-based approach must be taken instead  to flood and coastal erosion management.

The Environment Agency is formally advertising the works in preparation for work to start dredging of the Somerset Levels which will begin next month as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

Veolia has been awarded the contract by Shell Canada to design and supply a water treatment facility to recycle the water used for steam generation at Shell's Carmon Creek heavy oil project in Alberta, Canada.
