Whitby Harbour pipe repairs underway

Yorkshire Water and its contract partners Mott MacDonald Bentley have confirmed work is progressing well on the £750,000 project to repair a stretch of sewage pipe which runs along Whitby Harbour.

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure Group, has published its latest financial results for the half-year ended 26 June 2010.

South West Water has started work on a £2.2 million flood defence scheme to protect Exeter's water supply.

Successful prosecution by Severn Trent Water

Jersey Colours Ltd has been fined nearly £10,000 for exceeding the colour limit in its trade effluent consent with Severn Trent Water.

Construction group Morgan Sindall has warned it will be “fighting hard to stand still” for the next two years as a result of cuts in public sector spending on construction.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is extending the fishing suspension at Llwyn Onn reservoir near Merthyr Tydfil due to low water levels.

Whickham flood scheme in the pipeline

Northumbrian Water starts work today on a £600,000 scheme to protect five properties from flooding.

Thames Water has published its  first 25-year Strategic Direction Statement Taking Care of Water – Our plan for a sustainable future.

The Consumer Council for Water has warned that the Competition Commission’s final decision on how much Bristol Water can charge its customers until 2015 is well above what many customers will be willing to accept.

A hosepipe ban is still in place in the North West, despite some reservoirs returning to near normal levels in the last two-weeks.
