Selwood win £3.75m Severn Trent Water pump hire contract

Hampshire- headquartered Selwood Group has won a £3.75 million pump hire contract with Severn Trent Water.

Selwood was one of three companies bidding for the contract for the supply of submersible pumps across the Severn Trent area, which stretches from the Humber estuary to the Bristol Channel and from Mid-Wales to East-Midlands.

Founded in 1946, Selwood is now a £50m turnover company employing 420 staff throughout a nationwide network of branches and is one of the largest privately owned UK companies serving the water, environmental and construction industries.

Selwood has designed and manufactured mobile site pumps since 1953 and is now one of the UK leaders in the field - 75% of its units are exported through a worldwide distributor network.

The firm has also developed a specialist pump hire division and is currently the No.1 Pump Hirer in the UK.
